Ask Your Preacher

Adam’s Sin: Non-Transferable

MANY preachers teach that the sins of Adam and Eve have been passed down to all mankind and thus makes every person – even the infant – a sinner, wholly corrupt and guilty before God. Their doctrine is called “Inherited Total Depravity.” Is it taught where you worship? If so, then…

TELL YOUR PREACHER that God’s prophet Ezekiel said, “The soul WHO SINS shall die. The son shall NOT bear the guilt of the father…” (Ezekiel 18:20).

TELL YOUR PREACHER that the apostle Paul said, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that EACH ONE may be recompensed for HIS deeds in the body, according to what HE has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

TELL YOUR PREACHER that the Bible teaches that man is spirit with a body (2 Corinthians 4:16; Matthew 10:28). Tell him that the body of man is from Adam, but the spirit of man is from God (1 Corinthians 15:44-48; Ecclesiastes 12:7). Also tell him that it is the spirit of man, and not his body, which God charges and holds responsible for sin (2 Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 15:11,18-19; Romans 6:12-13). Tell him that God is “the Father of our spirits” (Hebrews 12:9). And now, tell him that IF man, as he preaches, is born a sinner, then the sin must have come from God…ASK YOUR PREACHER if God is a sinner?
