Do You Believe in the Old Testament?
Yes, we believe in the Old Testament in it's entirety. We believe the prophecies of the coming of a Messiah and the establishment of His Kingdom, the church (Isaiah 2, Daniel 2, Joel 2). We believe in the prophecies to Abraham in Genesis 12 & 18, that from his seed God would make a great nation, that he would give them the promised land of Canaan, and that in his seed, all nations would be blessed. We believe that the promises made to Israel where fulfilled under the Old Law, "All came to pass" (see Joshua 21:45). We also believe that Jesus Christ's coming to the Earth and being crucified on the cross for our sins was a fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies (Matthew 5:17).
We believe that the OT was our schoolmaster or tutor to lead us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). We also believe that the Old Testament or Old Law was a law for the nation of Israel and not bound on Christians today. We believe that if we are bound to keep any part of the Old Law then we are, "Under obligation to keep the whole Law" (Galatians 5:3, James 2:10).
Why Don't You Use Musical Instruments in your worship service?
We have searched the New Testament have not found an example or command for the Lord's people to use musical instruments in worship to God. Many will be quick to turn to the mention of musical instruments in the Old Law, which is not an authorization for New Testament Christians to use musical instruments in worship today (see the previous question). There are several of our number that are accomplished musicians and enjoy playing musical instruments. Just because we enjoy the use of musical instruments for our own entertainment, does not justify its use in worship since our worship is to be holy (1 Peter 1:16) and not a source of our own entertainment.
Do You Think That Your Church is the Only One That is Going to be Saved?
Some have asked this because of our close adherence to God's word. The question is somewhat misinformed in that it is not "Our Church" but the Lord's church. We do not feel that we are a group within a larger group of believers (i.e. denominational) but rather simply Christians. Acts 2:41 & 47 defines members of the 1st Century church on the day of Pentecost as those who were, "Added to the saved." A simple biblical definition of Christian is, "the saved." We don't determine who is saved, God is the one who determines as it was, "The Lord" Who "Was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved" (Acts 2:47).
